Youtube Widget Not Functioning Properly

Today i had added the youtube widget to one of my presentations and when the player would re-load the schedule it would get stuck at a white screen acting like it was trying to load but it never would. I tried adding the widget through the rva.risevision.com part of the site and when i used the original designer the plugin worked. Does anyone know how to fix this? The widget worked both times if you went to preview the presentation it only happened when you published it to a display.

What device are you using this on? Also it might be best to reboot the system to see if it loads correctly. Could have been a cache issue so rebooting might help. Also is there multiple schedules for this device or just one main presentation? Thanks

We are trying to use this on a Linux and Windows device. We tried rebooting the systems and doing clean installs of the player as well but had the same result. There is just one presentation.

I have made sure that the computer does not have anything being filtered on it to ensure that it is not a content filter issue. Changing the url to https vs http does not change anything when i go through App.risevision.com but it does work when using rva.risevision.com.

When using the new editor it fails but when using the old editor it works? I will test this out and see what the issue is. It could be because the editor is still i beta and could be an issue with how the editor is saving the widget. I will work with rise to see what is happening.  Hopefully we can provide a fix for this. As of now continue to use the old editor till we fix the issue. Thanks for bring that up. :)

That is correct. I did not realize the new version is still in beta. Would make some since why it isn't working. Thanks for your help! :)

I didnt see an issue but Hannah mentioned that the url might have been an issue in there presentation. I tested everthing both ways and everything worked on my end so im thinking that might have been the case. Thanks

Hi Josh
It looks like the YouTube stream in that presentation is offline so the video may not be previewing at all. I however do have https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wj2de... running on a Display right now and can't replicate the error.

Thanks!

Hi Josh,
Just wanting to check if you still have this issue with the LHS_Live_Event_Presentation? I looked into the presentation again and it looks like the stream from the YouTube page is offline. Thanks!

Still does not work in the beta rise vision version so have resorted to using older rise vision site. Not a perfect solution as we need to be able to schedule things at increments other then every 15 minutes.

Josh,
It was discussed before, but I'm just gonna say it again that you could download videos off YouTube and play them in your presentation with Video Widget. Works for me.

We were trying to stay away from that so that we don't have to do that every week but it is definately an option.
