Tony,

The Windows Installer that you can download from https://help.risevision.com/user/create-a-display actually takes care of all the tweaks that will help the Display run as a better Digital Signage Player, including turning off the screensaver, adjusting the power mode, and killing Windows Explorer so it can't pop anything up on top of the screen.

We don't have a doc for those tweaks since they are all done automatically.

Thanks!

Thanks for bringing that to my attention Tony, I will bring this up to the Dev team over here.

Tony,

I spoke with the Dev team over here about it, and the reason we leave it in this state is so that there is not unnecessary power consumption and hard drive strain during times of disk inactivity, like when the Presentation is set to show nothing. If the device is running 24/7, there shouldn't be any periods of disk inactivity, and all should function as expected. Let us know if you see otherwise.

Thanks!

I would like to add on one more point, the "background" script file by default is sometimes "disabled in startup". We faced this issue in couple of players. So the fresh installation didn't start up even after reboot. We now manually check each of the players startup and enable it.

Thanks for letting us know Prakash! If any other users see this behaviour, be sure to let us know!

I'm curious, does it happen on all Windows and Linux machines? Or just your Windows 10 machines?
