If the player starts and plays the content as supposed, then it is normal behavior. This is what I was told by Rise Vision. If it does not start and gives you some error message, then most likely you have another instance of Rise Vision player installed. At least this is what happened to me when another instance of the player sneaked in with the Google Apps Desktop Application. It was simply removed from my Google Apps and it solved the problem.

Hi Eric,

I don't have anything to add to Darius' response - he's right on.    Regarding the password protection, it's your media player to do with as you please!  Just keep in mind that each time the player restarts, you will possibly have to enter the password for the presentation to show up.  So if this display is not in a handy location where someone can enter that every morning, you may want to think of other options.

Sorry, I am not following. Why do you need to hide it?

Example ! In window 7 start up and goes directly to presentation ! In window 10 a window from rise vision player is open and behave as is installing all over again ( doing different steps until goes to presentation )

Eric,

It does the installation thing in Windows 7 too. And it goes directly to playing presentation in Windows 10. This has nothing to do with the version of Windows; this is Rise Vision App issue. I am not sure, but maybe different App version behaves differently. This does, however, bothers me a bit too and I was gonna take a look at it. I will do it today.

OK, just looked at it. I have 3 Windows devices running Rise Vision App in Kiosk mode. Two of them are Windows 10 and one is Windows 7. Both Windows 10 are starting 'normally.' Windows 7 is doing that 'installation' thing. Both Windows 10 devices I installed myself and Windows 7 came in pre-installed. However, all of them are using the same Rise Vision player version and the same Viewer version (not sure if that matters).

So, now I have a question, what the heck is the reason for such different start-up behavior?

What ? have noticed, the weirdly behaving app's icon is different (some light blue circle with something vague in there) from the one's that is booting up fine (easily recognizable green triangle). That is why I thought the versions were different. So what is the difference between them?

Eric, how did you get your Rise Vision App on that device? Did you install it yourself? If so, where did you get the App?

Hi Darius,
It sounds like they have a different Installer version. The light blue icon that you've noted is the default icon for Electron which is the framework used to build the new Installer. If you can send through the Display IDs to support@risevision.com with a note to this forum/my name and I can query it here.
Thanks
