Will I still be able to use the old Rise Vision editor after Sept. 1st?

Being extremely busy with a a ton of other projects pending, I have been briefly reading about the phasing out of the old editor, which as of now, is the editor I have been using.  Do I need to carry over my presentations to the new editor before Sept. 1st?  I am mainly wondering if my displays will be shut down/screen blank if I don't update my presentations to the new editor before Sept. 1st, or if it is just a case of Rise Vision not providing support for the old editor by this date.

Hi Dan!

Classic Editor will still be available for use after September 1st, and all presentations that have been created on Classic Editor will continue to work.

I believe you are referencing the announcement about our Legacy Rise Player being unsupported as of September 1st. This would be the software that is installed on your media player, not the editor itself.

Ah yes, my mistake - that is what I was referring to.  Both of our players are running the old Rise Player - 1 being a Pi, and the other a Cenique device.  Since both our devices are running the old player, do these need to be updated by Sept 1st, or can I do that at a later date?

Dan,

Our supported player only runs on Windows 7, 10, and Ubuntu 14.04 at this time. We don't have a supported player for either Pi or Cenique.

Should you encounter issues with your Pi player, I would recommend checking out this thread. We have some community members that have done some neat stuff with Pi.

If you encounter issues with your Cenique player, or have questions about upgrading the version of player it's running, you should contact support@cenique.com

Hello Dan,

We are encouraging all Rise customers to upgrade their Cenique Android media player  to the new V4.1 App which is compatible with the new Rise Editor. See our FAQ  for a free upgrade.

We have legacy presentations failing while using Cenique players. We are being told that we need to convert all of our customer's classic/legacy presentations to the new platform. This will be an extremely costly undertaking for us. We were under the impression that Classic/legacy presentations would continue to work normally. Advice please?

Wade,

At this time, I would recommend contacting Cenique to inquire about a free upgrade to the new platform to see if this corrects the issues you are seeing.

As per the message above, there is a free upgrade option available from their FAQ page

Thanks!
