Widgets do not work with merged HTML

While working on this jQuery multi-page touchscreen display I decided to do little experiment:
- created new presentation
- pasted in my own HTML code (preserved original RV HTML code that could not be deleted)
- in RV Editor inserted new placeholder and moved it where needed
- applied a widget for that placeholder

Initially I was very excited because everything worked as expected and it looked very promising;
however, later I learned that no widget would work. RV placeholders show up OK, all my HTML works OK. Is this something fundamental in the RV core or is it somehow possible to make those widgets work?

Why I would need that? Because there some really good RV widgets, such as RSS (I honestly have not found a better one); would make multi-page presentations with RV Widgets much easier to make. Would allow to keep all the content in the same place instead of pulling the entire site with the Web Page Widget from some place else.

Darius,

I'm not 100% certain that I understand what's going on. Could you provide a preview link to your presentation so I can look a little closer?

Thanks

Blake, it is very simple. When one starts the new presentation in the editor, it creates this 'webpage.' There is nothing in it, jut basic web page attributes <head>, <body>, and some RV <script> at the bottom. Now what I did, I took the code from the fully built jQuery webpage from Dreamweaver and pasted where it belongs in the editor: <head> content between <head> brackets in RV editor, <body> content between <body> brackets, added <style> element etc. I did not delete what's yours, as you were clear that nothing can be edited or removed below 'this line.' At this point all is good and I have full functioning multi-page jQuery webpage withing RV HTML. Now in RV editor I am adding a placeholder and position it where I need it. Placeholder is just <div>, so I move it within the code where I need it (I put it within the jQuery 'page' - this way I get control over when it is visible and when not). All is good at this point too. Now, I go ahead and assign some widget to that placeholder and this is where it 'breaks.' The widgets simply do not work. I can see the widget content in the editor, but it is out of the picture together with the placeholder in preview.

You cannot see the placeholder "TextWidget" now in preview, but it is there. It has the text widget in it and it breaks it. If I removed the widget, you would be able to see a red-colored empty placeholder where I placed it.

Ignore all the missing <iframe> content.

Darius,

I was informed by our developer team that this issue was resolved last night. Can you give it a test?

Thanks for the kind words Darius. All thanks should go to our Apps Team of developers. They fixed this issue before I could even log a defect!

Blake, I really think you guys should discuss the possibility of adding jQuery modules to your editor in the future. This thing would Fing rock! This would bring RV d-signs quality to the new level, IMO.
