Im looking at the Risevision players and I need to understand if I would be getting a different product if I were to purchase a PC myself and install the player on it?

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for asking.  The advantage of purchasing the Rise Vision players is that they arrive ready to go.  They already have the Rise Vision player software installed and the machines are already optimized based on the operating system you choose.   All you have to do is connect them to the display, connect them to the internet and power them up.   Enter the display ID and never mess with them again.

In addition, if you purchase Priority Support (or already have priority support) with Rise, this will extend the warranty of any hardware purchased from Rise for up to 3 years or until you cancel your priority support.   To be clear on this point - purchasing a media player through the Rise Store doesn't mean you are purchasing a media player from Rise Vision - so if you want to take advantage of the extended 3 year warranty, be sure the media player you purchase is from Rise.
