I've been using the rise platform for sometime on ubuntu, but haven't been on the website in a while. I've noticed that the chrome app player has been replaced by custom software again. Should I move away from chrome and on the custom software again? Why did you guys ditch chrome? Should I expect more reliability with the new method?

Hi DSquared,

Since you are on Ubuntu, we also recommend doing a clean install of Ubuntu 14.04 if you haven't already.

See this recently published article: https://community.risevision.com/rise_vision_inc/topics/how-to-perform-a-clean-install-of-linux-ubun...

Instructions for installation are at https://help.risevision.com/user/create-a-display?cid=f114ad26-949d-44b4-87e9-8528afc76ce4

Also make sure to also have a look at the Linux optimization guide at https://help.risevision.com/user/advanced/display/Ubuntu-Optimization?cid=f114ad26-949d-44b4-87e9-85...

Thanks!

DSquared, reinstallation of your OS may not be needed. Please refer to Shea's link to a thread, specifically Byron's post.
