We want to display a live video stream from an IP camera. I know many have gone down this road and I have read many posts, but many are outdated.
We want to purchase an IP camera that can send a single feed that our Chromebox players can see - on the same in-house network.  I am looking at different cameras and would appreciate any input. Which cameras can do this with their own internal streaming (no extra hardware)?
Which compression format and protocol will work on our Chromebox players?
Do you have any recommended brands? Models?

What about this one?

or this one?

From what I've read, it appears the "content by URL" with a custom locally hosted web page or the video gadget would be best.
Thoughts?

Wayne,

I can't make an recommendations on cameras, as we have never developed or tested anything like this. If you are thinking about displaying your stream in a presentation, you will want to consider using the Web Page Widget. If you use the We Page Widget, you will need to make sure that the web page serving the stream allows iframe embedding.
