I setup a Schedule for "All Ads" and created individual presentations for each ad and there are a total of 30 ads in the "All Ads" schedule. The times are set correctly for the duration of each video and they're all webmHD. Sometimes they play other times they do not... how can I fix this?

Sean,

What are you using in these presentations to display the videos? Video Item, HTML5 Video Widget, or Video Folder? Are these videos hosted on Rise Storage?

I'm using the video item with videos hosted on rise storage.

Sean,

Can you try using the HTML5 Video Widget instead of the item? Let me know how this impacts your situation.

Hi Blake,

I think I have a similar issue. I have a list of WebM video's, each with their own presentation. I put this in a schedule and set the correct time for each presentation. All presentation's have a background image.

Some video's are short (between 10 and 30 seconds) some are longer (2 minutes +).

Sometimes the video's playback other times they don't, It looks like when a longer video doesn't play it show's the background image. But when a shorter video doesn't play it shows black. I was using the video item, but switch this to HTML5 video widget for a couple, but still have the issue. Am I setting this up the wrong way? Should it be all in the same presentation?

Cheers Wolf

All,

I am assigning a technician to take a look at your specific implementations of the HTML5 video widget. Could you please provide a link to preview the schedule that you are having issues with?

Link to the schedule: http://preview.risevision.com/Viewer.html?type=schedule&id=ca87d2a1-ea16-42be-908e-0b7c323bd6b6

I am updating all the video players to the HTML5 video widget as we speak.

Thanks in advance!

Three files in my storage are being blocked, maybe this adds to the issue? One of them is the background image I used.

Wolfram,

It looks like that is your issue. Can you tell me what version of player you are running? Native Player, Rise Player, or a third party android or other player? Do you have these files running in preview?

I was using preview to see if I had issues with the schedule. I had rise player on my chromebox only showing a white screen until about two minutes ago.

Sean,

When using the Video Folder Widget, the Widget has to download all items to the Rise Cache before it will begin playing the first video. You can see a bug report for that here.

You made me look like a fool! It's working now!

If I upload a new video to the folder how long will it take for it to appear on the screen? What type of delay is there?

Sean,

That certainly wasn't my intention! The fact is, it's notworking as intended and the fact that you brought it up reinforces that for us.

The Rise Cache will pick up changes to the folder within 30 minutes, but when the video appears will be dependent on your sort order, and what video is currently playing.
