As of today morning (27.07.16 6:30 GMT) webpage widget stopped working.
I run Raspberry based viewer and made no changes to it prior to incident.
Presentations work in Rise Vision preview mode and webpages are rendered

Reflashing Raspberry with same image https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B3nCfHvpBwApb05zOGNnZ1cxS2s helped and webwidget works again.

So it seems that Chrome somehow lost capability to display webpages. Local cache or smth...?

Tiit,

This is on a Raspberry Pi device, correct? Any changes to the browser version on that device?

Yes, Raspberry Pi device with image referenced above.
No changes to browser versions was done. Simple reflashing Raspberry helped as it reset all browser cache as well... something not quite right there.

Weird...I don't have an answer for you right now, and we actually don't support the Pi.

You may want to bring this up the "Riseberry Pi" thread, which is a community driven Player to see if they can lend any assistance: https://community.risevision.com/rise_vision_inc/topics/community-supported-raspberry-pi-2-instructi...

Thanks!

I am experiencing the same issue and I am using a Chromebox.  I also am unable to see the content on my web page widget in the RiseVision preview.  I have verified that the content I'm trying to show loads when going straight to the website through Chrome.  It will just not appear in the Web Page Widget.

Tracy,

If I am looking at the right Presentation, it appears that you were using a WebPage Widget to look at a preview for another Presentation, that was using the HTML Item to call a third party service. I think the issue here was the webpage widget was blocking the third party content, and hence that graph wasn't coming up.

What I did was change that ChaseNEW2 Presentation around so that instead of embedding the Presentation preview with the WebPage Widget, I added the HTML Widget directly to ChaseNEW2 and used that same code from the other Presentation. Now it shows up perfectly!

I saved, but did not publish, just so you could take a look and make sure that all worked for you.

Let me know what you think!

Thank you so much! We've used the Web Page Widget to display that graph before, so I'm not sure why it's acting up now.  But, your fix resolved the problem and I'll be able to implement that across all our platforms that have the issue.

Thank you again!

I can confirm, the web page widget's performance is very spotty today on my non-managed Chromebox. The same presentation works fine on a Windows device.

Darius,

What sort of issues are you seeing? Are they with specific external webpages?

Those are the web pages created with embedded elements. I get standard Chrome 'problem loading page' type of error. One, the smaller, is displaying embedded weather info, but that is working with interruptions. It may not load initially, but seems to come back later on. The other has embedded Google Slides and is not coming up.

UPDATE: everything is OK now. I looks like the widget is(was?) failing to load the content on startup, but does does that later because is set to refresh after X number of minutes. I will keep an eye on it, maybe this is just a temporary problem.

I've been displaying this webpage http://www.weatherlink.com/user/tapcowx/index.php?view=main&headers=0 through the web page widget on Chrome boxes, it's been fine until today. It's not displaying anything. We've been publishing the presentations using this widget through the Core API. But even when I added the widget in a new presentation from the Rise Vision editor, it still displays nothing.

Hi Matilda,
I added the website on the Web Page Widget and was able to show it on the Display.
Do you have the name of the Presentation that you are currently using? I can see a new one from the TAP account referencing the Radar Widget but this may not be the correct one.

Thanks!
Hannah

Yes they are managed and they are running version 51.0.2704.106 of Chrome. The web page widget was not running on my Chrome browser on my Mac either, version 52.0.2743.82, but has now started working again suddenly in the last hour or so. The web page widget is working on all our Chrome boxes except one under the 'TEST - Multi Displays' company, the display 'TEST DISPLAY 3 - Center'.

Hmm..if that is the case, it sounds to me like a glitch in Chrome. If it was not working on your own browser, that really isn't something we control :).

Are there any different settings on that one Display? Any chance you can try rebooting it to see if that solves the issue?

Another thing that comes to mind is that maybe the cache needs to be cleared on any Displays having trouble.

When you log into https://apps.risevision.com, go to those Displays, and select the Restart Player option. This will clear the cache on those Displays and restart the Player.

Let me know if that helps!

I was mistaken, this box was just a test box and not managed. We rolled it back to version 48 of Chrome and it is managed now, the web page widget is working. Thanks you for help
