Web page widget does not load content

I have a few presentations that worked last week and all of a sudden they do not this week.

My presentations have a few widgets, some of which are static jpg's (loads them fine) and some are the web page widgets.

These now show up as blank only on my chromeboxes. When I preview on my phone, or on my computer I can see the content, but when I preview or load through the app on the chromeboxes they show up as blank.

I noticed the widgets said Web Page Widget (inactive) so I re-added the widget which seems to be a newer version, but they still show up blank on the chromeboxes.

Do you know why the widgets don't work on the Chromeboxes all of a sudden?

Chromebox version: 50.0.2661.103

Hi,
Has this occurred on more than one Chromebox, and if so, has it occurred at around the same time? The cause could network changes. We have a list of network requirements at https://help.risevision.com/user/crea... under What if I have a Firewall / Proxy?

Also please see our note about Chrome OS at https://help.risevision.com/user/crea... under Can I run Rise Player on Chrome OS?

Curious to know - how did you go with the YouTube Red account?

Hannah,
I am not sure.... I added my credentials, but the same video is not acting the same when I watch it in my PC's browser and when it is playing in the presentation. In browser I get ads (no code applied), but not in the presentation. I must also say I have not spent all that much time looking at the presentation to see if any ads would pop up. I am gonna ask guys, who are actually watching the videos during their lunch time, if they noticed any ads.

Hannah, we have not seen any ads today. Still not sure if the code is working, but it certainly looks this way.

Thanks. I don't have access to YouTube Red since I'm in Canada. I did a similar test where I embedded a YouTube Video using the HTML Widget, then signed in. After restarting Rise Vision Player and then rebooting my log in (Google/YouTube) credentials were retained. To confirm, have you restarted this Player at all today so that it has the latest version? My other thought is that YouTube Red is a paid subscription service, so they may have other checks in place for certain broadcast type of situations. Could be something to reach out to with YouTube Red and check.

Perhaps it is something local because one of my Chromeboxes (non-managed) is playing all the Web Page Widget content just fine. And the Windows device is playing the same presentation also fine.

I think it has to do with the Chromebox version. It worked for a brand new chromebox. Then the box updated itself and the widget stopped working.

Passing basic auth creds through an iframe (using the HTML widget) doesn't work, do you know of any other widget that might help?

As I said, my Chromebox is non-managed, so it gets all the latest updates automatically and it is set to restart every night. But I will keep an eye on it.

You can do one trick, though. This is what I am doing most of the time. Make a webpage with your Iframe in it, upload it to some server/storage and pull it from there to your presentation thru the Web page Widget. My reason for this approach is that I do not really need to modify presentation, but that isolated webpage instead.

I had the same problems today on 2 unmanaged chromeboxes on kiosk mode that i deployed more than 6 months ago, I had the updated widgets but i think i had the older version of the rise player for chrome, I did a full restore and installed the last rise player version and both boxes worked. Here is the link of the version that i installed https://community.risevision.com/rise_vision_inc/topics/rise-player-chrome-app-new-version-available
