web hosted image won't load

I've performed my initial testing with Storage and am preparing to deploy Rise Vision on Raspberry Pi into my environment.  Things work great with Storage.

Now I'm trying to switch over from using Storage to using my own web hosting.  I have uploaded to the image files to my hosting and I can access them through a web browser (Chrome) without issue.  Using the same link, Rise Vision cannot pull the image.  These are the same images I use on Storage.

Why would the source of the media matter?

Hi Daniel,

Are you able to access the files from the Display using a regular browser?  Its possible that the Display doesn't have the rights to access the files.

Thanks.

Daniel, this is probably related to cross-site http policies. Check out the article linked below and let us know if that helps.

This looks like a full white-paper from Mozilla.

For the high-functioning layman, is this saying I need to adjust settings on my hosting or do I need to dig into RV to modify the file request?

It would be a change on your server. What service are you using?

Turns out I'm a spoiled newb.  I didn't include http:// at the top of the link.  It all works now.

I just tried the image on my Display using the first link and it showed up.

Can you ensure that the Presentation is published?  Displays will only show the Presentation as of the last publication.  Previews will be of the last save so there may be a difference.

Also, can you check to ensure that the Distribution and Timeline are set properly?  Previews don't adhere to these settings, and if not properly set, may have the Displays not show the content.

Thanks.

I found the Presentation with that image.  The Placeholder is set to only show it on 1 Display.  If you update this Distribution to include all the necessary Displays and then save/publish the Presentation, it will then show on the Windows ones as well.

Thanks.
