Vimeo Widget autoplay issues

We have purchased the Vimeo widget and have created a playlist, each video has autoplay enabled and loop is disabled (thus playing each video entirely, in sequence of the playlist).

At the start of the scheduled broadcast day, the video placeholder is dark. The Vimeo loading bar is visible at the bottom of the screen, however the video doesn't play.

Essentially, I have to go into the editor every morning, make a small change, press save and publish, and then this seems to resolve the issue. A bit of a time-waster every morning, though.

Any suggestions on how to resolve this problem so that the Vimeo widget will cycle through the video playlist smoothly?

Robert,

I've notified the developer of the Vimeo Widget to see if he can assist in this matter. Thanks!

As far as the vimeo it could be anything that is causing that issue. It could be a single video and it could be the streaming because vimeo doesnt allow caching. I would try enabling reboot or disabling reboot of the device through rise to see if that helps any. If its rebooting then test at a time when your around or can see it. Also disable reboot to see if that stops ithe issue. Sometimes rebooting could cause internet to be off and cause loading issues.

Other than that please let us know if that changes anything.

Robert,

Did that help the issue at all?

Hi William and Robb,

We have each display rebooting at 3 am. I'll try removing the reboot option and see how it goes.

Thanks!

After trying both enabling and disabling a reboot of the system, we are still having the same problems. The Vimeo player loads but does not start playing the first video in the playlist.

I should also add that we are using the web based Rise Vision application rather than any Rise Vision specific hardware. Not sure if that makes any difference.

Can you send me a preview of the presentation so i can see? Also are you using the chrome app player or the rise electron player? Wanted to be sure before i start looking.
Thanks

We are using Chrome to log on and use the RiseVision servers. Here's a link to our preview: http://preview.risevision.com/?type=presentation&id=c47f7e52-0651-4665-a33c-02b566bdcdad

The preview always seems to load and play but the actual display does not. It seems to freeze before playing. I can see the load bar at the bottom of the screen and it shows that it is loading (or perhaps stalls as it attempts to load the video), but there is no video signal played in the Vimeo widget placeholder.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Robert,

I can see that all the Displays in your Company are ChromeOS Players running the Rise Vision Chrome App Player.

Rise Player on Chrome OS has been released as an open source project to the community and it is no longer directly supported or maintained by Rise Vision at this time.

Can you try this Presentation on a Windows or Linux Player and see if the issue continues to occur?

I was going to ask the same thing. I also increased the timing on the widget to .5 seconds on load so that might help a bit but other than that i dont have many issues on windows or linux. You could also see if updating the chrome version will help as well.
