Our videos and images in the same placeholder are not playing on location. They play fine in preview. We have upgraded to the new editor and Risevision 4.1 on our Cenique players. Here is a link: http://preview.risevision.com/?type=schedule&id=d6c8c325-5931-4124-bb58-f9778ab47dd1&showui=...

Ann,

Before I notify Cenique of this so they can work with you on it, I wonder if we can fix this easily with a fix I discussed with them recently regarding something similar.

If you connect a mouse to the Cenique device, can you right click TWICE in the bottom left of the Presentation while it is running. When you do that, it will bring up the Cenique Player Settings, and one of the options there is to clear the cache.

Press that Clear Cache button, then restart your device.

Let me know if that corrects it!

Ah, I see what you mean. Thanks for that clarification Ann. We don't have any documentation on those settings, but I can explain them really quickly for you here:

Resume Playing after last position - Starts the Video where you last left off if you do not have it set to Play Until Done.

Scale to Fit - Scales the video up or down to fit the Placeholder without sacrificing the aspect ratio.

Show Video Controls - Shows the Rewind, Pause, Fast Forward etc buttons at the bottom of the video.

Auto Play Video on Startup - Will start the video automatically and not require any interaction to begin playing.

I hope that helps!

Thank you! That's what I thought was weird because the videos are set as play until done but they said that needs to be checked. Maybe it's an issue or workaround for Cenique players?

Play Until Done is checked by default when you add your Video in our current Editor at https://apps.risevision.com, however you would need to check it at http://rva.risevision.com. I would suggest adding all your videos at https://apps.risevision.com to ensure that Play Until Done gets checked all the time.

I hope that helps!

If videos (all videos are checked "play unitl done") Do I need the Resume Playing after last position and Auto Play Video on Startup checked? I'm still randomly getting blank placeholder on occasion. Also, is there an issue with naming jpg's and mp4 files? Like no numbers, or hyphens, etc in the naming convention?

Nothing that I am aware of, however I wonder if this is something unique to Cenique devices.

Are all your videos set to Play Until Done? If they are, you don't need to check Resume Playing after last position. However I would strongly suggest leaving Auto Play on Startup checked. This way it doesn't wait for anyone to interact with it to begin playing the video.

Let me know how you make out with Auto Play set in the settings, and Play Until Done set for the video!
