Video on Elementary Education Widget

Could you please kindly let me know how the demo video on the Elementary Education widget was encoded? What software was used and what the settings are? The demo video runs fine on my player (a zotac celeron zbox) but my own video won't show up in this widget even though it plays fine in the Full Screen Video widget. Thanks!

After downloading it looks like the codecs used are H.264 and AAC. We also have a video conversation thread here for other ideas and suggestions.

Thank you but what's the bit-rates are? What's the resolution of the video? And what it was encoded in? Do I have to use H.264 and AAC to make the video work? No WebM? Thanks!

With that video it's an MPEG-4 movie running on 1440 × 1080 (resolution). You may also want to try with the WEBM format as well.

The file that works in Full-screen Video widget but not in this Elementary Education widget is in WebM format. I can't understand why.

It doesn't look like the server you are hosting your files on is responding. http://www.screencast.com/t/6qoosI9IWBG

Thanks for taking time looking into this but I am sure the server is working as I have another display running the same video in full screen mode 24/7 for weeks without problem.

Hi,

The Elementary Education template presentation uses our Video Widget to play the sample video you see. The Video Widget supports either WebM or MP4 files. In order for your videos to work properly, MP4 videos should be encoded to use the H.264 video codec and the AAC audio codec. WebM videos should be encoded to use the VP8 video codec and the Vorbis audio codec.

Hope this helps. If you continue to have problems, please provide a link to your presentation and we can take a closer look.

Thanks

Hi Computer Animation,
Were you able to get it working using the codecs mentioned?

Hi Hanna,

I've tried to re-encode the video in a different application in WebM (vp8 & vorbis) format like Stuart recommended but it still would only play in full screen video widget but not the  elementary education widget.

Any other suggestion?

Thanks!

Hi there,
If the video file is working for the Video Widget, you should be able to add in the same video file in the Elementary Education widget. To check, are you previewing these on the same Display? Also is the zotac celeron zbox on Windows or Linux? If you have a link to the presentation that would also be useful.

Yeah that's what I thought but for some reason it just doesn't work. I was previewing these on the same display and zotac celeron zbox is running Windows 10 and the latest version of Rise Player.

Hi there,

Just to confirm, you are saying that preview does not work either, is that correct? Do you have a link to your Presentation?

Thanks!
