Hi I have Rise Player installed on a Raspberry Pi 3 and am so far loving everything except 1 tiny thing that is preventing perfection is playing back video. I've tried playing back a youtube video using the HTML widget and the video is skipping lots of frames. I've then changed that to a video widget thing and am pulling the video from a webserver. Again the video doesn't play smoothly. Audio is fine but the video isn't.

I initially thought it was because I was powering the Pi from the USB socket on the back of a tv but using the official Pi power supply results in the same issue. What is the best format to play back the video - currently it is an mp4

Thanks

Richard

Hello Richard,

Playback of video on the Raspberry Pi is known to be choppy due to the lack of hardware acceleration in the Chromium browser, which the Player app relies on in the background. We advise shrinking the video down via Placeholder in your Presentation instead of using a large video or full screen.
