Using video with an android player-does it have to be a cenique player?

I cannot get video to play in my presentation, I am running the Cenique app through an android player (non-Cenique) but whatever I try I cannot get videos to play in my presentations. I have tried converting to the suggested Webm format and tried using MP4 but nothing works. Do I need specifically to be running through a Cenique player for this to work?

David,

I believe that the Cenique app is designed to only work with Cenique media players. I will alert Cenique support to this thread and they can confirm.

Is there any way to play video through other android players in general then?
My apologies if this thread has been covered but I was looking for a straightforward answer as to whether is possible at all through android, and other threads and users comments seem to address more complex issues than my own.

The problem could be the version of android. If your using 4.3 and below please use the my rise player test app on the play store. It brings a different webview library so that video can play. If its 4.4 and above then The original player should work.

Thanks for the replies, the items are appearing fine during the preview. I will check the android version of the main player however I have tried the presentation, or at least a video on my Nexus 7 with a current android version and still no joy.

It's 4.2 and you will need the test player from the play store. Also a few things to check. Take out any spaces in the name if there is any. Also take out any extra periods in the name because it can throw off the server in the app. Lastly if the video Is large it might take a minute to get to cache before playing. Also delete cache of the app through system settings. this way it gets a clean video version when it downloads.

Again thanks for the reply. I will give that a try when I am next with the system and update date you with any success.

Try using the rise player app instead and see if it works through that, however I would of thought the cenique app would of supported and allowed it run.

Hello David,

The Cenique Android Video Gadget is only designed for use with Cenique media players and the Cenique CMS App.
