using multiple video clips in single placeholder

I am trying to build a setup so a client can easily add or remove video clips from a monthly display. Currently I have a presentation containing a single video placeholder. Inside the placeholder is a playlist with two clips (both custom URL vimeo vids). When the presentation starts the first vid opens and runs then the presentation ends and the next presentation begins when the first presentation returns the second video shows and thus begins the loop. This behavior occurs when both clips are set to "pud" or if the first is set to 10 sec and the second to "pud" Each clip is 10 sec long. If I shorten the first clip to 5 sec, it plays for 5 sec then the second clip shows up for 5 sec, then loop to the next presentation. Should I be making multiple placeholders of one clip each? That seems clumsy. Is there a way to create a placeholder to easily slide clips in and out of?

Alternatively (and this is what I love using for constantly updating video playlists) you can use YouTube playlist. In this scenario client does not even need to open RiseVision to edit video playlists. It is all done in YouTube.

Hello Brian,

One easy way to do this is to add the URL of the video directly to your Schedule. If you are using YouTube to host them, or even Rise Storage you can get the URL from the file manager and paste it into a playlist of videos in the Schedule. This removes the need for a Presentation to proxy the videos. :) The schedule tool is also very easy to login to and update.

Let me know if you have any additional questions or if this works out for you!

Regards,
Mike Thomas

Hi Mike, This sounds promising, so under schedules we would just add playlist item and click storage, then select a folder and the items in that folder would play, is that correct? What order would they play in? What transition would apply? Thanks

Brian, Video items in the storage are organized alphabetically and this is how they will play. On the first 'pass' you will see whichever video was uploaded first, then second etc. But later, after all videos were uploaded, they will start playing in order. There is no transition effects between videos.

The video the client gets currently is uploaded to Vimeo, is there a method like these for Vimeo?

No, this method is for videos from RiseVision Storage. I do not know much about Vimeo, never used it. I know that RV works very well with streams off YouTube.

So assuming I can't download the Vimeos is there a way to run a series of video clips (short, full screen) except to make each clip into a presentation and then move the presentations in and out of a schedule; is that correct?

Did you try Vimeo Widget? I am sorry, I am not familiar with it. It does not allow streaming multiple videos?
