Hi richard,

You can set the sheet to automatically update by going to:

File - Spreadsheet Settings - Recalculation

Set to "On change and every hour."

Hope this helps

i had it set for every hour and it will work then stops. i have it display todays date plus dates 10 days out and 28 days out to prevent shipping product with a short code. it is important the sheet updates like it should.

Richard,

Unfortunately I don't have an answer on this one. Have you researched this at all on the Google Docs support forums? Any luck in there?

We originally used the today() function but switched to the now() function and found it to be very reliable. If you just need the date out of now() you'll have to parse it.

I did not want the time just the date. so that is why i used the today()

Correct. You'll need to parse it to get just the date or change the cell formatting, depending on your application.
