User Roles defined

Good morning. We've been a RV user for a few years. We are now  ready to delegate some sign content and administration to our sub-companies. Upon researching - I'm unable to find (my apologies if I just didn't search correctly) - a document or post that discusses each of the 5 users roles and their specific access/security/abilities.

Would anyone possibly have a link or a document or the time to elaborate their differences?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Warm regards,

Hey Robert,

You are correct, there doesn't seem to be much info out there, other than this post:
https://community.risevision.com/rise_vision_inc/topics/important-announcement-regarding-user-roles-...

That references the user roles in the User Documentation (where I would expect this info to be) at:
https://help.risevision.com/user/add-users

Unfortunately, that page is a little lacking at this point. Given the information in that first post though, I'm going to make some assumptions. Maybe Rise can update that page to better clarify! Maybe someone can go through and verify my assumptions by making users and trying this out. :)

Some of these roles seem to be additive, whereas others I might assume include specific permissions.

No Roles (you've made a user but given them nothing)
- I assume they can see Presentations, Displays, Schedules, but can do nothing aside from probably a Preview?

Content Editor
- Can edit and save the content of a Presentation, but can not push that content to a Display (Publish)
- Can upload, delete and create folders in Rise Storage
- All previous permissions from a user with No Roles

Content Publisher
- Can edit the content of a Presentation, and publish a Presentation to a Display
- Can upload, delete and create folders in Rise Storage
- All previous permissions from a user with No Roles or Content Editor Role

Display Administrator
- Can create and modify Displays
- Can upload, delete and create folders in Rise Storage
- All previous permissions from a user with No Roles

System Administrator
- Can add/edit users, modify company information, add/edit sub-companies
- Can upload, delete and create folders in Rise Storage
- All previous permissions from a user with No Roles, Content Editor and Publisher, Display Admin

Store Purchaser
- Are copied on any invoices, purchases, or notifications from the Rise Vision Store.
- Can upload, delete and create folders in Rise Storage

Anyhoo, there's my take on it! Maybe others will chime in or test it out and Rise can update that documentation. :)

Wendi,

Thanks SO much for taking the time to put that in! You were 99.999% correct!! The only thing that needed some work was the Store Purchaser, so I updated your description above to include that, as well as made some minor changes to the others.

Our champions really are wonderful :).

Robert, Wendi's descriptions above are exactly right. Thanks!

Awe shucks :)

Robb, I wonder if you could get someone to add that info to the Users page? Seems like that's a place people would go to look for it.

Outstanding. Thank you both for the quick response. I think others new to user administration will find your response very helpful.
Can a display manager alter schedules?

No, a Display Manager only manages Displays. Only a Content Publisher can alter Schedules.
