Infinite Scroll for Google Spreadsheet Widget

Hi there,

I have the new GoogleDrive Spreadsheet Widget running in one of my presentations.

Just two colums are used that are irregulary updated by simple external text and number auto-feeds in a way that each additional information arriving in the spreadsheet adds two associated information in each colum.
This means that the total number of horizontal rows grows by one row for each new single data coming in.

The total lines are set to a limit so it is not a crazy number of total data scrolling. Actually I am testing with presently 12 horizontal rows only.

If the maximum visible rows (ph size eats about 10 rows depending on the data) on the display in the preview have been reached, the data starts scrolling north.
The ph and configuration settings are:
- Placeholder Transition Mode = None
- Configuration Setting:
   Data Refresh Interval = 5min (unfortunately the minimum setting)
   Scroll Mode = Continuously
   Speed = Slowest
   Pause = 0

My questions:
1. Is it possible to make the data scroll through the specified range on and on without the enoying one second break that comes up after the end of the range has been reached and the spreadsheet data start scrolling from the very beginning of the specified range? How can I get rid of the said break/time-out between the transition that I didn't set like that? I wish I had real continuously scrolling) without any time-out.

2. The Data Refresh Interval doesn't work in the preview. New data coming-in appear correctly in the spreadsheet but are not shown even after 10 minutes (should appear at latest after 5 minutes as set). Is this a bug in the Widget? After closing the preview tab and open a new preview the data are appear as it should. I am sure it is a cache issue in the browser but shouldn't work it automatically?

3. Is it for a technical reason of the Widget that the Data Refresh Interval minimum setting is restricted to 5 minutes? I wish to refresh the data every, or every second minute. I can change the setting in the HTML code to one minute and safe it but it doesn't do it, maybe because the whole data refresh doesn't work in general automatically.
If I go back to the regular "Design" configuration after saving the HTML change to 1 or 2 minutes, the Widget doesn't allow me to save again because my HTML change to below 5 minutes restricts me from saving the presentation.

I am working and previewing on a HP Pavilon Laptop, Windows7, Chrome Browser and no Player installed on my workstation of course. My live tests are always done (have never done this with this particular presentation) with another HP Laptop, Windows7, Chrome Browser and Player, HDMI connection - so similar hardware as my worksation, because the live displays shall run on the new mini Windows PC-sticks (Windows8) with Chrome Browser after they have been released next week in Germany.

Thank you very much for your answers in advance and thanks so much for the wonderful and powerful RV DS cloud application and support.

Hi Frank, just wanted to give you a quick update here. We needed to make a change to our schedule and while we've finished building the Web Components that will serve as the base infrastructure for the new RSS and Spreadsheet Widget, we don't yet have the Widget Settings UI that will sit on top.

So, what I'm going to do is update the title of this Topic to be a feature request specific to supporting infinite scrolling with our current Spreadsheet Widget. We'll look at adding that if this topic generates enough demand from the Community.

If other Users out there would like this please let us know by selecting the "Like" button at the top of the page!

As for the data refresh, as mentioned above the 5 minute minimum value is due to an issue with the Visualization API so there isn't anything we can do with the current Spreadsheet Widget.

If other Users are interested in the ability to scroll an RSS feed, please "Like" the topic here,
