I have been trying to have a Youtube playlist play on my Rise vision screen using the Youtube widget but the widget is only playing the first video repeatedly. How can I make the entire playlist play (it is about 15 mnutes)? thanks!

Bustard,

I'll contact the developer of this Widget and ask them to respond on this thread. Thanks!

Can you send me the url of the playlist to support@scottsdigitalsignage.com for our testing. Thanks

Looks good on my end and running like it should. Is this happening on a player or preview? What OS and browser are you using? Chrome is recommended so if this is happening on a different browser then please use chrome to test. Rise uses chrome for everything so we only tested for chrome. Thanks

I did find a bug that caused an issue with the last video and that has been fixed. It seemed that every other rotation would leave out the last video. I have now fixed that so that the rotations will go all the way through without any issues. You might have to delete cache and reload but i did find a bug regarding the last video. Hopefully everything works for you and let me know if you find any other issues. Thanks

Hi again William

I have deleted the cache and reloaded the playlist to the youtube player, and it is still playing the same video over and over. It randomly played another video, but then reverted back to playing the same video repeatedly. We are using Chrome to upload, and the display monitor is also set to use Chrome

Any other advice? Should I try to recreate the playlist on youtube and re-upload?

Thanks for your ongoing assistance!

Are you using playlist 1 or 2 in the settings? Also what Os are you using just so i can narrow that down because i don't see this issue.

Oh i bet i know what it is. Check your chrome extentions. You might have to delete a few or all. If you have a bunch of extensions sometimes they play a role with youtube. I don't know why but they do.

Hi William,

I have tried to use both 1 and 2. We are using Windows 7. I just reset everything again, and it plays one video repeatedly while periodically playing one of the others...however I have 16 videos in the playlist so not sure why it is only repeating the two

Thanks again!

Send me the preview url of the presentation so i can see if it isn't something with the presentation itself. Also try a different computer if you can with chrome to see if it isn't something with the computer. I had no issues on all three OS's on my machines so duplicating the issue is hard on my end. I went through all 16 videos.

Hi William!

The only extension I had was googledocs, and I deleted it. You can see a preview of the presentation here: http://preview.risevision.com/Viewer.html?type=presentation&id=80ee6083-5706-4ef7-9416-49b6da540...

The preview seems to run just fine! I will try another computer shortly and let you know if that works. In the meantime let me know if you have any other ideas :)

Thanks!

Yea it works in preview for me as well as of now. Are you using the chrome app or the native player from rise? I will test again on the chrome app but if your using the native app then it will not work. I will keep testing just to see if i can get it to do it on my end.

Hi William,

another individual at the dealership programmed our display. I am just waiting on him to find out how he set it up. Chances are that he used the native app (that would explain why it is not working), but I am not positive. Once I find out I will touch base with you

Thanks again!

Ok i think that might be the issue. The native app uses an old chromium version so i wouldn't be surprised. If thats the case then have them change to the chrome app and that should solve the issue. :)

Hello William!

the individual who set it up just confirmed with me that he used the Chrome player. Any other idea what might be causing the issue?

thanks again!

I tested on 10 machines with windows with chrome app on it and none have this issue. I wonder what version of chrome he is using? The only other thing that might be causing it would be an older version of chrome. I will keep testing. Also i posted an update to the youtube player but it was for better error handling.

Hi William, thanks again for your reply. I will have him check which version he is using and update if necessary

Thanks!

I was thinking about this and might have come upon what might be happening. If there was an error that occurred in the playlist then the player reloads the playlist. I have now set that to go to the next video in the playlist. In any case he might be getting an error on one of the videos which is resetting it back to the first video. If thats the case then clear cache and restart the machine. Hopefully that will clear up the error with one of the videos. Then hopefully the change in error handling will fix any issues that props up on the videos.
