Transition from one presentation to the next

Is there a way to have a simple transition between presentations? I have a number of presentations scheduled, but as expected without a transition they just cut one to the next. Is there a way to make the presentation (not an element) fade out and the next one fade in?

Hi Taryn!

Transitions in Schedules are not supported.

Thanks!

Taryn, technically you could use preview links as the items for the Web Page Widget and have them fade in/fade out within a placeholder.

How would you do that Darius?

tracourt,

Pretty easy.

1. Open presentation's A preview and copy the link. Add "&showui=false" (no parenthesis; removes the RV banner). Do the same with presentations B, C, D etc.
2. Start new presentation, add a placeholder (full screen), and assign the transition effect to it
3. Add the Web Page Widget Item for each presentation you want to show and paste the saved links for each widget accordingly
4. IMPORTANT! in each widget un-check "Unload Web Page when not visible in Presentation (recommended)" box
5. Hit 'Save & Preview' & allow full cycle to finish

Here is what I put together for you:

Presentation A http://preview.risevision.com/?type=presentation&id=62b2f4c6-8a9b-4730-8ceb-c2f5c356bbf9&sho...
Presentation B http://preview.risevision.com/?type=presentation&id=76c2e828-3c85-4ee6-a246-96585a61be78&sho...

Both A (50s) & B (45s) together in a single presentation http://preview.risevision.com/?type=presentation&id=086a98ff-5ecf-4c70-9d24-312794a32c3f&showui=false

Now, I said it would technically work, but I can see content update issues for presentations embedded that way and perhaps some other potential problems. Therefore please test it yourself and most importantly on an actual player.

With all this discontinued embedded presentation talk, I felt this subject could use some juice again. If embedded presentations are going away, the alternative route to them is to schedule many presentations in the Scheduler. It would be nice to have a simple fade between each presentation.

Darius, with the URL workaround, although a great idea, I believe that the URL doesn't act in accordance with the programmed schedule, so therefor if any content was set to not play at a specific time, the Preview URL wouldn't listen to that. So you'd be all your content regardless of scheduled time.

Joe,

I would suggest mentioning this conversation in the Embedded Presentations discussion, to see how many other users are interested in this same idea.

Thanks!
