Touch Capabilities- Employee Directory

We are looking to implement an interactive screen in our lobby.

Lets assume we have a Windows 7 x64 Pro running on an Lenovo ThinkCentre M73 10AY (mini pc form factor).  Also assume the touch screen monitor is a ViewSonic TD2340 23' Touchscreen.  Chrome installed of course, registered as a display on my RiseVision account.

I would like to have some scrolling images - which I can figure out.

We would like the other half of the presentation to be an employee directory.
Could it be touch friendly to lookup a person and their number?  Can it interface with Active directory?  Are we better off using a large screen Android tablet with some other presentation solution?

Pure awesome would be a touch screen portion or employee listing that syncs with Active Directory, and automatically calls the person - so they can go pick them up in the lobby.

Thanks
kurt

Kurt,

All of this is certainly possible, that's the beauty of the open source model that Rise Vision is built on. If you have the resources, you can develop anything you want to display.

We have the Directory Gadget, which syncs to a google spreadsheet containing information regarding employees at a certain location. We have no pre-built widgets or gadgets that reference Active Directory at this time.

Kurt,

I missed your question about touch support. Yes, Rise Vision does support touch on Windows. The directory gadget can be configured for navigation via touch screen input.

As a follow up, looks like the free Directory Gadget is not able to be 'purchased' - because I'm confused how to add it to the cart.  The only option is to 'continue shopping'

Glad to know that touch is supported!

Any additional insights how I configure that piece would be most helpful... :)

Kurt,

You will actually need to add this gadget through a presentation placeholder. If you go into presentations, create a placeholder, click add content, then search for Directory, you'll be able to add it to your presentation.

Also, the link you provided had your company ID in it, the full public link is http://www.risevision.com/help/users/what-are-gadgets/free-gadgets/rise-vision-directory/
