The file is being requested too many times and is blocked

We have storage with Rise Vision for our content but this afternoon our displays stopped working and after investigating the issue we found several of the files have a red exclamation point with the message "The file is being requested too many times and is blocked."  We have only 5 displays so we are very concerned about what could be leading to this throttling.  Can someone speak to the restrictions and suggest how to mitigate the issue?

Jeffrey,

We're in the process of investigating and fixing and issue that arose this morning with Storage throttling some user's media. We have found the cause of the issue, and implemented the fix, and we're currently in the process of removing media files from the throttled list.

This is not intended, and your media should be accessible again soon.

Jeffrey,

This issue has been resolved. You should no longer see your media being throttled.

Have a good day!

I have some files that are having this same issue again this afternoon.  I had issues with some custom code for one of my presentations and I just completed some changes and now many of the images are not available and are being blocked.

Steven,

Is the Presentation you are referring to called "Missions Map Final"? I don't see any throttled content in your Storage directory, and I can see the images in this Presentation no problem, but perhaps I am looking at the wrong Company or Presentation.

Since throttling only goes for an hour, is it possible that your code caused the blockage, and has since been changed so the files are not being throttled anymore?

Thanks!

Yes, that is the correct presentation. It looks like the throttling has ended and the images are loading correctly now.

Hello! We encountered the same problem with our presentation at the end of last week. For a moment, the issue was fixed on Friday, but now the error "The file is being requested too many times and is blocked" is back on our background file in the storage. The presentation name is "TRT Internal info slides test" . Can you please check?

Marianne,

I think I see the file in question that you are having the problem with, PPT-background-1-vert.png, is this correct?

Are you able to tell me how many displays this image is being presented on? Is a presentation with this image running in preview anywhere?

Hi, Blake. Yes, this is the one. We are using this in one presentation that is scheduled on 10 displays.
What do you mean exactly about the second part of your question? Do you mean is the preview of this presentation running on some device? Should be not... all are published.

Marianne,

Yes, I'm asking if the Preview of the presentation is running on any displays.

Let me look into this a little bit further. I don't see anything standing out that could be causing this.

Hi, Blake. We found a workaround. As the file was our background in the presentation, we removed the placeholder that we used for this purpose and where the error appeared and just added the file (and renamed it) to the presentations background in the settings. Seems it works like that at the moment.
