Team Drive on G Suite as a shared source of spreadsheets and images

Google has released Team Drive as part of G Suite - it would be nice to use items on this new team share as the source of spreadsheets and images used in our presentations.  Can RV and the Widgets use this resource?  Presently spreadsheets can come from only the Drive associated with your own RV account (not a Team Drive, even though a file is accessible by you).  More powerful, however, is that others in our distributed team can change the document (on Team Drive) and still allow the file to be accessed by RV - even when team members change (including the original 'owner' of the RV presentation).  Is this possible, and if not, is RV working on this?
Thanks for the update!!

Not sure if I understand your question correctly, but I am gonna say that we work on the same Google Sheets and Slides files from different accounts and all the changes get posted to RV.

Thanks for reply Darius.  Understand your point.  In this case, the new feature Team Drive allows for a team (company or organization) to share documents a little like Box or Dropbox - in this case the Team Drive is not owned by an individual but an organization.  When configuring the Spreadsheet Widget to add a spreadsheet, you can choose your own Google account Drive from which to select the document.  We are wondering if we can either select a spreadsheet directly from our new Team Drive folder, or through our own Google Drive view of the shared Team Drive folder.

Hi there Bill,

I'm not 100% certain if it will work as expected from the Team Drive folder, however if you could share your findings in this conversation, it would be much appreciated!

Howdy Robb, thanks for the response.  So far, I am unable to 'see' any spreadsheets in the shared Team Drive folders through my own Google Drive access in order to choose them in the file picker.  And I am also unable to even view the Team Drive directly.  Any thoughts or suggestions?  Is RV working to add access to this new Team Drive?  Thanks again.

Bill,

Unfortunately I don't have a suggestion. We are not actively adding support for Team Drive folders at this time. Just to confirm, you can add the spreadsheet when it is NOT in the Team Drive folder, right?

Howdy Robb, bummer news.  The spreadsheet works fine when in my Google Drive account associated with RV.  I can not even see the spreadsheet when in my Team Drive to which I am a shared use (member of the Team). I would ask that RV consider using this new folder as Team Drive will likely grow as a collaboration/shared resource in G Suite.  It also allows RV to be more of an organization shared tool vice coupled with a single individual (and then shared from there).  Thanks for the update.
