Suggestion: Improvement of Presentation Editors + others

Hello,
Knowing RiseVision interface is currently changing, it may be the perfect time to propose some light improvements and especially in the presentation editor. Working with the editor for some weeks, there some annoying issues with the current version :
  1. Does not check if a page is saved if editor is left.
You may work on a page design without thinking to save it.
If by error, you leave the page in the browser (you click on a wrong link or made a wrong keyboard shortcut), the editor does not prompt to tell the page was not saved and you may lose a lot of work.
Can you please make a check to avoid this situation?
  2. When opening the Presentation page, all pages are listed including the templates.
Instead of having a column indicating if the page is a template or not, I would suggest showing only the normal pages and only through a witch on the interface the page templates would be shown (and shown only, not showing the normal pages)
  3. Video Item, Image item, Video Gadget/ Add a check link to see the asset.
Beside the URL of the selected video or image, could you add a link the user could click on to show this URL using a popup window?
Very often, updating a placeholder, I don't remember what the URL was for. So, I've to select the URL and copy/paste it on another tab to see it. I do it also to rapidly know the length of a video.
Adding the link (named for instance : Check link) would improve usability
I have other ideas but those 3 don't seem hard to implement and would increase usability.
THanks.

Thank you Thierry,

Great suggestions and we love the feedback!  As you know our team all monitors this community and your input will be seen by all of us.  I am very interested to see what the rest of the community thinks of these ideas as well.

Thiery, great points, added to the backlog, and BTW, editor project began today. You can watch it at https://editor.risevision.com. Thanks!

Thanks Byron. I can get an access to the presentation listing page but when clicking on a presentation, I can not get in the editor (using Chrome 44). Maybe the editor part is not yet ready for checking.

Even better than I expected. I did not realize that the page was dynamic allowing to activate menus. Really nice. Congratulations.

Some extra comments again:
  • Be sure that in each menu, there is a clear option to close (or cancel) the update done. Today, some menu miss such. For instance, the Placeholder properties window does not have a close (user has to now he has to click out of the window and click on keyboard <esc>).

  • Very useful if we would have a way to lock/unlock the size and position of a placeholder in a presentation page. Should not be too hard to do.
I've got the case working on fine page design that took me few hours especially for aligning placeholders. Later on, by error and without noticing it directly, the placeholder position was moved while updating the content.

  • See also other this already documented request :
    https://community.risevision.com/rise_vision_inc/topics/presentation-get-the-overall-duration-automa...

  • And keep this one for a next major release ....
Create a new user role as "Content feeder".
Would 'just' allow the user to update the content (but the configuration) of a placeholder.
For instance, would have just the right to modify the text in a text gadget or modify the URL of a video gadget but could not change the placeholder configuration neither page layout.
Would be great to grant an access to very basic user to modify content. Today, Page Editor has a bit too much permissions in my eyes.
Challenge would be to fine a good governance about such changes in regard with presentation publication.

Thanks again to the RiseVision team for their efforts.
PS.
And sorry because I can't keep myself to tell again that a calendar view in schedule management would be very very great ;-)
