Sub Company & Storage

My apologies if this is referenced elsewhere.  Our university has recently added a few more displays in various departments.  For obvious reasons, we do not want each department to have access to ALL of the displays, but rather just their own.  Is the best option to create sub-companies for each department with their own displays in them?  But does that require each department to have their own storage?  Or is there a solution I'm unaware of?  Maybe limit their roles as a user?
Any suggestions are welcome.

Tri-C,

If you want them to be able to update Presentations, your best bet would be to do sub Companies. The reason for this is you can limit their user roles, but if you give them the Editor/Publisher roles, they can edit any Presentations in the Company, you can't set it to just select ones.

If they were set up as Sub Companies, you're right that you would need to set up Storage for each individual Sub Company if they wanted to use our Storage subscription service. This is because Storage is a Per Company subscription.

If you didn't want to set up Storage for each Sub Company, it would be a bit more convoluted, but possible. You could use Rackspace, Amazon S3 storage, or even the Parent Company's Storage, but getting the URL's would require someone from the Parent Company uploading the media to their Storage, and then providing the link to the user in the Sub Company.

Does that answer your question?

Thanks!
