Stupid question, but I don't see any instructions on changing a display ID number on a risevision player

I've got a few Win7 powered players that I've been testing out, I need to exchange these players with other units that I have installed on a job site (non win7 signage units that have been using the preview page that stopped viewing)

Long story short, I made a test ID number on my RiseVision page but I need to change the ID number on the Windows riseplayer so that I can set it up for my client before installing it.

I don't see anywhere in the Riseplayer instructions on changing an ID number after its been selected. Do I have to uninstall the player and re-install it or is there a way to backup and enter a new number?

Thanks

Hi Coppertop,

You can change the display ID in your RiseDisplayNetworkII.ini file. It is located at C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\RVPlayer\, simply open the .ini file in notepad and make the changes to your displayID.

is it the same when changing the ID# on a RiseDisplay Ubuntu powered player? I pre-set some to replace units in the field but when I got there I found out that their internet had gone down and that it wasn't a player issue.

coppertop,

For Ubuntu you will change the same file, but you will need to open it from terminal with sudo.

The file should be located in /usr/home/rvplayer.
