We are pleased to announce that we have just pushed a new feature to Rise Vision Storage - Unlimited file size hosting!

You will now be able to upload files of any size to display on your presentations in Rise Storage. Keep in mind that due to network and hardware limitations, extremely large files may cause unexpected problems on your presentations.

What would be considered an extremely large file? 1gb?

Are there daily or monthly size limitations? We plan on pushing out 5gb a day of different content which will equal 150gb a month of files being pushed to 100 players requiring a fair amount of bandwidth.

Essentially, there will be a tv channel pushed to the players. The concern is that we will be shut off for going over any limitations in place on the servers.

Thanks

Robert,

As outlined on the storeIf your usage appears to be far outside of reasonable norms, we reserve the right to restrict your account. At this time, we are only set up to throttle files that are being abused, either intentionally or unintentionally.

Right now throttling is triggered by files being accessed an excessive number of times within an hour without a Unique ID attached. The Chrome App Player provides a unique ID to our server. As long as each media player is displaying content with Chrome App Player, and there are no hardware or network issues, you should not break this threshold. Generally we see issues with throttling when multiple media players are accessing the same media through Native Player, or a user is displaying using a preview.

In any case, you will not see your storage account as a whole be throttled. Only offending files are tagged.

Do Cenique players have unique ID's?  I'd like to play a slideshow of images in a specific storage folder.

Joel,

Will you be playing the slideshow on multiple players?

Maybe. The most would be two players.

Joel,

With only two players I doubt you would see any issues with file throttling. I am unsure of how the Cenique player references our storage, you can contact them at support@cenique.com to check if they use a unique ID when requesting files.
