Spreadsheet update not working

Despite having a 5 minute refresh time, and having the spreadsheet setup to automatically publish on change, it's not doing so. If I save and republish, the change gets pushed through.

Any ideas as to why it's not refreshing properly?

I am having the same issue. It suddenly started happening last week.

Hi guys,

Just wanted to keep you abreast of the situation. We're trying to replicate this at the moment, we should have a conclusion on whether this is an issue with the widget soon.

Kray & Shaun,

I was not able to replicate this issue in the way that I'm interpreting your report:

Start with a currently (and correctly) displayed spreadsheet widget, change something in the actual spreadsheet, and that change never updates on the display (the old content remains).

I have observed a similar (and likely related) issue and will be logging a bug in the repo about it:
While the trigger is random (most frequently adding additional columns rather than rows of data), the entire widget stops showing data and goes blank.  From this point, updates to the spreadsheet no longer show up and, as you said, republishing the presentation is the only recovery.

I welcome any additional details or feedback and will be bringing this to the attention of a developer shortly.

Thanks,

Matthew

I solved our problem by going into the HTML code for that presentation and adding the following:

<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="300">

Shaun,

Refresh tags are not recommended or supported. These can lead to display blocks for excessive connections.

Hey, I am open to other suggestions. This is all I could find right now that would get it working. Otherwise, the sheet would sit on the screen all day and never refresh even though the source URL would have been updated multiple times.

I don't have the other problem reported, but I can get this one reproduced on 4 machines.

They are running Asus VivoMini UN42 hardware with Ubuntu.

Kray,

Can you provide a link to your presentation?

Thanks,

Matthew

Here you go. This is one of 4 presentations running off the same spreadsheet.

Hi guys,

We investigated and fixed Issue #118 with the Spreadsheet widget this afternoon. If you could reboot your media players your presentations should pick up the new, fixed version of the widget.
