Spreadsheet for announcements:

Hi all:

We are trying to use the spreadsheet widget for announcements -- one problem we are facing is we'd like to have a title for each announcement that is centered and bolded automatically (see example image) however we can't find out how to achieve this in the Google Spreadsheets -- any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

You can specify the number of columns to format in the Gadget to one, and then choose the Alignment of Center

Regarding the underlining of the titles, you may want to consider the use of HTML within the spreadsheet. You can find additional information on adding HTML to the text here. If you want just the titles to be centred, then I would skip the column formatting as shown in the image, and just use the HTML option instead.

Thanks.

Thanks, Neal!

We actually figured out the HTML option and are planning on using that. Out of curiosity, you wouldn't be aware of a way to have it automatically append those tags to columns without having the marketing staff have to worry about adding them, would you?

I'm not aware of an automatic way, but once the tags are in place, they can just update the text within the tags to reflect the new message. (Double-click the cell they want and then just highlight the text in that cell they want to modify)
