My spread sheets are not displaying properly. When we add spaces between words it bumps to the next line - we keep having to add dashes or underscores to remedy the issue. The placeholder has been enlarged to accommodate the text so I don't think that is the issue

Hi Mary Jo, are you using the Google Spreadsheet widget (versus the older gadget), and do you have a padding set for your columns in the widget?  Can you try setting the padding to 0 and let me know if that makes a difference?

The padding setting seemed to do the trick.   I will keep an eye on it for a bit.

I will also check the widget...  is there a way to tell if it is the new widget

I would rather not disrupt the display if I do not need to

Thank you

I'm glad to hear that the padding did the trick.  The way to tell if you are using the Widget is by looking at the presentation in the Editor, then in the Properties for the Placeholder, like this:

If you are still using the old Google Spreadsheet gadget, then from your screenshot, it looks like you are pulling the formatting that exists inside the Google spreadsheet itself, is that correct?

If so, then that formatting will not be pulled in with the new widget and you would have to format it within the widget settings only.  In addition, Google is updating all the spreadsheets out there to their "new format" and I believe also that once that is done you would lose the formatting from the spreadsheet.

It is still best to update to the widget now and make your adjustments, because at some point in the future the old gadget may go away or stop working unexpectedly.

Thanks for the info....  so am I correct in assuming it will disrupt my display while I make the change over?

It depends on what you mean by "disrupt".  I assume you will have to spend time formatting it with the help of Preview, then will want to push it to the Display to see how it looks, and then may have to adjust further, so in that sense, yes.

Ok I will need to look into this before I do anything - the screen is live at a 911 center and need to be careful of down time.

I appreciate all the help.
