spinning circle, no presentation

Tried the native app (although it seems like it's just the regular app bundled with chromium instead of chrome), tried the chrome web app, entered my display ID, and I just get a grey screen with the spinning circle.

The presentation previews OK (it's just the copy of the template), and I have a little green heart by the display, but nothing appears.

Not really sure what to try next.  Netstat -an shows lots of established connections outbound to various servers, there's no proxy server involved.

I'm not sure what to do next.

Hey Rise, i wanted to let you know a few users of mine have been experiencing the same thing from time to time. Usually right after they create a new presentation, displays, and schedule. It doesn't happen often and usually goes away after awhile but it has been happening. I also been noticing save issues with presentations. Now and then i get an error but after hitting it a second time it saves. Those have been what i have seen this week. Anyway keep up the good work. Thanks

Jaye,

Which display are you trying to show this presentation on, 209 vm, or 174?

William,

We have an issue that is being looked at with regards to our demo content loading. Normally, our demo content would appear if a display is not attached to a schedule. At the moment we are seeing a loading spinner until a schedule is selected.

Hi blake.  209vm was my second attempt because after a while, 174 came up as "display blocked".  209 vm is the one I'm currently attempting to get working.

I appreciate your taking the time to take a look at it.

Jaye,

It looks like you don't have a valid presentation assigned to that schedule. You have "New Item" scheduled to play, which doesn't exist in your presentations. Under schedules, delete "New Item", then add  "Copy of menu landscape" by pressing the select button next to the presentation link.

I re-added the presentation to the schedule, and now it seems to be displaying fine.  Thanks for the help.

Well, I should say, it worked great for a few minutes, then I went to show the boss, and when we came back, the display is blocked.  Egg on my face.  Does the template refresh or do something that exceeds the criteria?    I don't believe I changed any of the content, just loked at the HTML to get an idea of what's going on in there.

Jaye, are you still having issues?  Since you had no valid presentation assigned and just had the loading circle spinning for awhile, that may have contributed to the issue you saw once you corrected the schedule.

I am seeing this behavior after deleting and readding a new display.

Matthew, the most common reason here is the network may not be connected, or the necessary sites for the Rise Vision Player may be blocked.

This page details the sites that need to be opened, specifically in the "What if I have a Firewall/Proxy?" section: https://help.risevision.com/user/create-a-display

Let us know if that helps!

Display was working before I upgraded the player.

Matthew,

Any chance that one Display doesn't have the same firewall rules as the others? The reason I ask is I can get a screenshot o 3 of your Displays , but not the Corporate Front Lobby Display. It tells me : There was a problem requesting the screenshot. Please check connectivity.

They all appear to be in the same IP range, but the first thing that comes to mind is the network.

Just as a test, can you try running that Presentation on a different Display to see if it can show everything as expected?
