There is no sound coming from my Display when my presentation is running. Any ideas what the issue could be?

Hi RMN HR,

I'm going to need a little more information here. First off, can you provide me with a link to preview your presentation? Can you tell me how your media player and display are set up? What kind of media player do you have? What OS? Is it hooked up to your display over HDMI?

We have a computer with Windows 7 acting as the controller. That sends the signal to a black box transmitter to the black box receiver. It is hooked to the TV through hdmi. We have a vlan set up to pass the signal through the network to the receivers. When I first had this going we had sound. We are using a livestream.com local news streaming on our presentation. I am not sure if it is something on there end, the rise player, or all of the above.
I have to check with management if I am allowed to share the presentation. But that is what I have for now.

RMN HR,

Could it be something as simple as the machine is muted or maybe a wire to the speaker is disconnected?

No the TV is not muted. When I run the preview it has sound. But when it is run on the TV nothing on either one of the two tv's

Hi RMN HR

I may have located your account based on the email used to register here - is the presentation called Main-News-Info-Screen? If so, I did a test with the Schedule that's currently live and was able to have sound coming out, so I believe something may have gone awry with the hardware setup that you have.

I am using the latest installer on Windows 7.

That's OK - we are usually able to locate but we might have to confirm some details like presentation names

I uninstalled the rise player I had and installed the Google chrome app. I hear the sound on my computer, but yeah I am really having trouble figuring out why its not coming out the TV. When we first set it up it did have sound then all of the sudden no more. I will have to maybe disconnect and reconnect cables? Any other ideas? Could it have anything to do with VLAN's or network issues?

Are you able to play sound from another source on that Display ie YouTube.com?

I tried that also. I also just went to the TV and checked all the settings. Thursday I will disconnect and reconnect and see if anything helps. This is really stumping me.

I would say to bring it back to the setup/state before when it was working and make a note of the differences in setup...

We found the issue. I want to thank you for all your help. I restored my computer back to a different date . Found somehow the drivers for the graphics card changed. Also had this pop up after restarting "An HDMI-to-DVI display connection has been detected. In order to hear audio on your HDMI-based TV or display, you will need to have a separate audio connection from your computer sound outputs to your TV or audio equipment." Pulled the DVI cable and it is now outputting sound.
