Shared template editing

I have set up a sub company and added a bunch of presentations as copies from the originals in my own (root) company presentation list. These were added from the list of 'Templates Shared With You'.

It appears if I edit a presentation in 'root' the edits are also made in the resultant display of the sub-company presentation although not to the html of the sub-company presentation.

Is this the expected behaviour? What I expected was that presentations and display hardware in the root and sub-company were unique.

The presentation I have tested this with in 'root' is set to display to 2 unique hardware kits (Brix01 and Brix02) and does not include the display allocated to the sub-company (Brix03).

The presentation in the sub-company is set to use its own hardware kit (Brix03) and does not reference the 'root' hardware units.

The test simply changed the layout of the presentation in the 'root' presentation and as expected it showed on Brix01 & Brix02. However it was also reflected in the displayed output of the sub-company display on Brix03. The actual presentation html as seen in the editor in the sub-company hadn't changed and the layout was unaffected. However, the actual presentation being shown had the layout changes.

It would appear there is a link between the 'root' presentation which overrides the displayed output of the copy in the sub-company. I thought perhaps the presentation id was identical in both 'root' and sub-company but this is not the case.

The presentation id of the root presentation is:
"id": "68355c0e-d28a-4146-8872-9dcf7f6dfcb7",

The presentation id of the root presentation is:
"id": "95742021-464f-407f-ab40-4d0588b539d2",

I'm a bit puzzled with this - can you assist?

Doh!

Found the answer

I had a compiled list of presentations as one full presentation and within this I was referencing the 'root' presentation.

Sorted - please ignore me :)
