Schedule to Restart Player daily

There is provision to schedule a reboot player daily via the display panel but none to do a restart player daily. I currently restart player manually by accessing the display panel. How do I schedule a restart player instead of reboot player?

SRC-IT,

Currently there is no option in the Display Settings to restart only the Player, however one option would be to create a simple script or scheduled task that runs the restart batch file (or sh script for Linux) from the folder: rvplayer/installer/2016.xx.xx.xx.xx/installer/scripts/ once a day. MAKE SURE that you run it as unattended, that way it will not ask you for the Display ID. So the correct syntax on Windows would be the following: restart.bat --unattended

This will kill all elements of Player, do the 10 second countdown, and restart.

Let me know how you make out!

Thank you Robb, your solution worked perfectly.

But I am wondering though why rise vision did  not put a schedule restart player option. I found no need to schedule a reboot player (the player is running on windows 10 mini pc). A schedule to restart player would be more useful. Can I request this for future upgrade?

SRC-IT,

I don't know of a definitive reason we don't have a restart player option that can be scheduled daily, though I suspect it may be because it can be done using the above :)

I have changed this to an Idea, so if other users are interested in this same functionality, please vote it up!
