Schedule testing

I was testing the schedules and switching between 2 presentations. For some reason when I scheduled one from 10:30am to 11am and then scheduled something for 11am to 11:30. At around 10:48 or so, it would switch  between the both of them and it was not even 11am yet. The second video should  not have been playing. I am setting the schedules under the schedules tab and adding a presentation with a specific time to it. Am I doing this wrong. Either way once it passed 11 the menu I wanted to display displays without being interrupted.

Brad,

Can you please review the documentation on scheduling provided here and make sure that you are not overlooking anything?

Sure, it seems it may have been slightly off on my part.

I have an additional question as well. I have a client that has a system in place he would like to replace with rise vision and rise players. He can currently have positions on specific content and have groups that rotate through them. Is there a way to do this on rise ? Ex - Position1 is a video that plays for 60 seconds, Position2 is a group of stills that rotates through after position1. Position3 is a random content group that will pick a few stills out of a handful. Then move to Position4 which would be another video. It will then continue to rotate through again and again. He can pick start and end dates for videos or pictures in these groups. So on feb 15th position1 will have its new video start playing and its 100 seconds then will go through the groups setup. I understand this may be done a different way with rise but if we can replicate some of the settings it would be more enticing for them. One of the biggest things with this is making sure trailer release dates are accurate and can be programmed. Also that someone does not need to make a whole new presentation just replace a video in position1 at whatever the desired date would be and have video that WAS in position1 have an end date.

Let me know if I did not give enough details.

Brad,

I believe I follow what you're saying. This could be done with scheduling within the placeholders themselves. In each placeholder, you can click the items (take for instance a video item), then select the edit button next to timeline. The video contained in that placeholder would only play for the times specified by the placeholder. If you wanted it to play on different occasions, you would just add that item to the playlist again with a different timeline.

I do see where I can line things up to play in order and then set a start and finish date on it now. I also wanted to know if you could set multiple place holders to start at the same time. So if the background was a video and started we could have a second place holder start at the same time but only be 20 seconds and fade into the background. The video would play through its 60 seconds and when it started again the text or image would come back up for it's 20 second duration and fade away again.

Thanks for your quick responses.

Brad,

I believe this is all possible with the exception of the fade out, that would have to be something built into the video. It would really take some testing to see if it will function exactly as you wish, but I certainly believe it's possible with our platform.

Would you have an idea of the direction I should take to test this. I am assuming that I would have to be able to multi select the properties of the placeholders to time them at the same time, or is this the wrong way of doing this. They are trying to avoid having the WHOLE video recreated and re-rendered and uploaded again to change a message or pricing of something.
