Schedule skipping presentations

Hello all,

I have a schedule that contains 5 presentations, all 720 webm videos, set to play in 15 minute intervals. The first 2 play consistently, but the 3rd either refuses to play at all and sits on our background screen, or starts VERY late (5 minutes in my recent test) but ends at it's scheduled time. The 4th played correctly (during the most recent test), but the 5th never played.

This is especially frustrating because the 1st, 3rd, and 5th presentation all contain the same video item, and the 2nd and 4th contain the same item as each other. The 1st video (pres 1, 3, 5) is a 35MB video, the 2nd (pres 2 and 4) is a 175MB file.

I have tried everything that I can think of (recreated the presentation, used timelines to specify play times, checked always and used durations instead) but nothing is making the presentations play completely in their selected order.

Solutions?

Thanks!
Tony

Almost forgot: ALL videos play correctly in the viewer.

Have you tried adding the Presentations into a 'master' Presentation and then just have the 'master' Presentation added to the Schedule?

Are all videos uploaded to Rise Storage, or are they hosted elsewhere?

Thanks.

Thanks for the response!

All videos are on Rise Storage.

The problem I foresee with the 'master' Presentation approach is that I'm merely using the 15min intervals as testing for what I will actually need twice per month when our system goes live - signage from 10am until 645pm, a video presentation from 645pm to 7pm, signage from 7pm to 9pm, the video again from 9pm to 915pm, signage from 915pm until 1155pm. That would be a 13hr 55min presentation! The rest of the month it will simply be an 8min long signage video on a loop all day long, but for two days per month we need the video presentations.

I'm actually testing again as I write this, with new videos to be certain my file was not corrupt, and new presentations, and so far the result is the same - 3rd presentation (same video as the 1st) started VERY late but ended on time and the 4th presentation (same video as the 2nd) is playing on time.

Any other suggestions/potential causes for the behavior?

Thanks again!

Each piece of content that is added to a Presentation has the same Scheduling available to it as a Schedule.  You will be able to define the same intervals with either method.

When the Display is running the Presentation, can you open the developer's tools (press F12) and go to the Console tab and review any errors that appear there regarding the videos?

Thanks.

Our IT person quit on us two weeks ago and I (video production guy) inherited this project because it's closest to my wheelhouse - do you mean on the actual machine on which we are running the software? Sorry, very new to all of this.

Thanks.  I found your Schedule and am running a copy of it on my Displays here to see if it is replicable.

Hey Neal,

Did you have any luck replicating the error?

Thanks!

I didn't see any issues when I ran it last week.  There were no gaps in the videos played.

Can you try deleting the files in the "Rise Cache\cache" folder. Its possible that the files there got corrupted at some point.

thanks.

Deleted the folder, reset the times for the schedule, same results - 3rd and 5th presentations never played :(
