2 days ago we decided to take one of our Windows PC based RV players for testing to clients facility. The player was rock solid in our location for a long time. Now, at clients facility we could not really test it, so we brought it back and it was sitting on a desk for a day. This morning I connected it back on again, it booted to Windows and... nothing. Rise Vision player did not sow up. I rebooted and the same thing again. So I ran Task Manager and found that Electron App is active task in Windows. Switched to check App Tabs (PC is in tablet mode) and sure enough there it was... RV Player App installation interface!!! I had to type in display ID, after what the RV Player came back on again. How in the world the display ID removed itself from RV player? I have never seen that before.

Hi Darius, I have been facing this issue constantly on couple of PCs. Also for unknown reasons the app just freezes and would not move ahead after entering the Display ID. It just remains stuck. :(

Darius,

That is indeed quite strange. What OS was it on? Windows 10 or 7? 32 or 64 bit based?

I'd like to try and recreate this.

We saw the issue on a demo unit, Win 7 64 bit.

I saw this on a player, and it turns out the clock of the player box reset to 2009 or something.  Check that first and set it correct, then it should run again.  This little issue appears from time to time for some reason.

I should also mention that I re-installed the player, but I'm not sure if I needed to.  Originally, I thought a piece of the "Rise Display Network II" text item with the id was corrupt.  It was missing the ..."proxy=displayid=xxxxxx" part.

I did not have to re-install the App. It simply dropped ID and was asking to type in one.

I am speculating, maybe it was updating the App while we had it briefly connected, but it was not done updating when we unplugged it again. I cannot tell for sure as we were not able to see the screen.

Thanks for that info Alex and Darius,

I'll see if I can get this to happen on any of my test Displays. If you discover any more useful info, I'd appreciate to hear it!
