RSS widget not showing full story - ellipsis and cut off text

I am trying to use the RSS widget to display the full text of some local stories from our own college newsletter RSS feed. The feed seems to be valid:

http://validator.w3.org/feed/check.cgi?url=http%3A//www.sunyorange.edu/wea/grapevine/student/current...

I have chosen "Show Full Description" is the setting for the widget. The title style is set to 36 px and the description style to 30. The transition is "scroll" with speed "slow".

The problem is twofold. Some of the stories do not show the full story but instead show part of the story and an ellipsis, as if I had chosen to limit the number of characters displayed. Some stories are just cut off, sometimes in the middle of a line of text, and in a few cases the last line has an ellipsis and is also cut off at the bottom.

This is all happening when I use "Save and Preview" in the editor; I don't want to push this out unless it is going to work, but I do wonder if the preview is completely accurate.

Hi William
Let me take a look at this RSS feed in my own copy and get back to you. Thanks!

Hi William

I was able to view the full story and description as long as I have the following settings in the RSS Widget:
- Title is 36 px and description is 30px
- Items to show: 1 (this will only show one news story at a time)
- Layout chosen can be the 1st, 2nd or 4th choice
- Stretch the widget out across most of the screen.

It looks like the size of the story descriptions in the RSS feed, font sizes and the size of the Placeholder would contribute to the RSS feed not showing the full story. You may need to decrease the font size and also make sure that the Widget is set to width/height large enough for the all descriptions.

You may also want to look into limiting the description in the RSS, such as limiting to one paragraph.

Let me know what your thoughts are on the above. Thanks!

Thank you for your reply. I am impressed and pleased by how fast you got back to me through community (i.e., not priority) support. I omitted to say that I am trying to display this feed with the RSS widget in a placeholder that makes up a narrow column, about 25% of the width of the (HDTV 1080p) screen, so that is the problem. I currently am constrained to this size, but I'll keep this in mind for any changes to our layout. We're currently trying out RiseVision, but I'm favorably impressed so far.
