RSS widget loses paragraph breaks

The RSS Widget seems to discard all formatting such as paragraphs, lists, etc. Looking at our RSS feed, paragrah (<p>) and unordered list (<ul>) tags seem to be included, but are ignored when the text is displayed by the RSS widget. Is this by design? Is there a way to make paragraph breaks show up?

Hi William,

The RSS Widget will take what is formatted within the RSS feed itself.

To test, I've copied and pasted the HTML code in one of the RSS descriptions and added these in separately in the HTML Widget and compared it to the formatting that is on the RSS feed and noted no differences in the two with losing paragraph and list tags. I'm testing with the first content item (SUNY Orange Foundation Announces iGO-STEM Grants 2016 Requests for Proposals). There may be missing paragraph/list tags for the other content items.

Thanks

Hannah

Hannah,

I appreciate your response. I believe you will be able to reproduce the issues I am seeing if you make the placeholder very narrow. At the default font size for the RSS widget, making the width 200 px or less seems to do it. Apparently. all of the issues I am seeing with the RSS widget are due to trying to make it work with too large a font in too narrow a column. Perhaps making this widget work better with settings such as these (without hurting its overall performance, of course) is something the RiseVision developers could take under consideration.

Thank you,
