RSS feed not loading images

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to add RSS content and only get text but not images.

The site: http://www.lindholmen.se/nyheter
The feed URL is: http://www.lindholmen.se/rss/news
This is how it ends up:
http://preview.risevision.com/Viewer.html?type=presentation&id=618e3d7d-201f-4d3f-8d2c-fff057d47...
(Example)

I've validated the RSS feed with w3 RSS validator, and also tried the feed with external RSS feeds, which DO load the images correctly.

I also tried all different "Layouts" in settings.

I guess the external RSS feeds supports the image feeds but not the RISE Vision version, any ideas?

Seems like the RSS feed gadget will not pic up images from RSS using img src with HTML entities such as :< e.g.

"img alt="picture.png" src="/sites/default/files/content/bilder/nyheterpicture.png" style="float:left; height:246px; margin:10px; width:200px" /></p>"

(Tried to read some solutions in other threads here but without result)

Any help would be appreciated.

Best regards,

Ulf,

I don't see any links to images in that URL. I see stuff like "/sites/default/files/content/bilder/nyheter/skarmavbild_2016-02-04_kl._15.19.41.png", but no actual links to image files.

When I take a look at Nasa's RSS feed, it has links to actual images in the feed, and I can see them in the Presentation. Any chance we could update those to be actual links and see if that corrects the issue?

I agree. Ive also campared it to NASAs XML feed and I can see that it has another way to define image urls. However, other RSS readers ive tried seem to get the img ref HTMLs entitles in fro our feed (the example given from you above) and works, but not Rise Visions. Since it validates through w3 I guess its OK as well. I have to check with our web team if it can easily be changed, but I know we use Drupal as CMS system with plugins, which should be pretty solid and follow standards (?).

Ulf,

Honestly I'm not 100% sure, do you have an example of another RSS feed that works in Rise Vision that has the image references set up like yours?

Im still struggling. Ive now managed to get the RSS feed to include images from <enclosure> tag. And more pictures is "fetched" by the RSS widget, but not all. How come? I cant see the different in the XML code where the images getting fetched and not. Only the image sizes is different.

Also, is there a guide how to use CSS external style?

Hi Ulf,
I had a look at the feed on the Widget (RSS TEST NYTT 201606) and one on the RSS Gadget ('New Presentation').
I can't see anything that stands out to me with these feeds. Do you have more information - for example, if there is a specific article and image within that article to look out for? I can see some with images and no images, for example the events RSS had two items without images but I don't see images in the RSS feed itself. Looking into the news RSS feed, it looks like it's also fetching images but there may be a detail that I've missed looking into this.
Thanks!
