RSS Feed not consistent

  1. Our RSS reader does not display feeds consistently.  We are using it to display trivia.  Sometimes a presentation will start and show the question (one post) for a second then show the answer for the correct amount of time.  Sometimes it will grab posts out of order.  Sometimes it will do the first couple then start at the top (most recent) again.  Any one else know of an issue like this?

tony,

Could you use this RSS feed validator and see if you are getting any errors? http://validator.w3.org/feed/

They are all coming back as valid feeds. I do get a comment and not sure what to do about it, if anything.

tony,

I believe that'd a wordpress theme error that really shouldn't factor in here. Have you tried browsing the RSS feed with a chrome extension like google RSS reader? I would be curious to know if the RSS items appear in the correct order through that view.

OK...now it gets fun.  We looked it over and noticed we were using another RSS gadget...maybe too old.  We used the new one.  Now it doesn't work at all.  It has a line that repeats all the way down the left side saying "loading the player"

tony,

I've copied your rss feed URL and put it into a local presentation. It seems like some of the pre-generated layouts in our RSS gadget don't particularly like your feed, but some of them are working fine. I'm having particular good luck with the third layout selection.

I found a couple of issues.  You are correct. It seemed to have an issue with some layouts.  Also, we had used some custom colors.  If you forget the space after the comma it creates an issue.  It's working now.

We have the same problems with our RSS feeds.  We have two RSS feeds that will get out of sync with the subject.  One is a local news RSS feed, the others is a Reuters world new.  We are using the free Rise Vision RSS gadget.

I wanted to point out we are still having a bit of an issue.  It will grab post...like the 4th and it will play on the screen for like 1 second, then go to the normal rotation of posts.
