We're just starting our evaluation of Rise and were wondering if there was a way to run it off any of the inexpensive media boxes out there (Roku, AppleTV, etc...) or if it had to be a PC.

Chris,

Thanks for checking us out! I've never run it off Roku or an Apple TV, but there are several users that are trying out various Android devices, which you can check out here.

If you do get it running off Roku or Apple TV, we'd love to hear about it!

I'm currently running our displays on Apple TV through a software called AirParrot. Airparrot airplays up to six monitors in preview mode.

I'm running eight screens with Airparrot on a Macbook Pro.  Running a couple multiuser licenses on Airparrot to achieve eight screens. Macbook is hardwired to network as well as the Apple Tvs.  Wireless tends to cause problems.

Ok im back! I got Air Parrot and a LED TV and a MAC Pro with Apple TV. How does preview mode work. All I can seem to do is get the MAC Pro to mirror.. Any help is appreciated.

Jason,

A preview of a Presentation won't update with any changes to the Presentation, so it may not be the way to go. Is it possible to run the Rise Vision Chrome App Player on the Mac Pro? That way you will have the Presentation running in Chrome on the Mac Pro, you can just mirror that via Air Parrot.

In other words GIlman Displays is running a "preview" (a presentaion that wont update with any changes to the presentation, or static presentation) presentation. Is that presentaion exported as a media file of some sort, and then set to play on Apple TV? So whenever he wants to make changes he just swaps out the media/ preview/ player file? Is that about right? If so how is this achieved?

After rereading his original post, I get the impression that AirParrot is in preview mode, not the Presentation, but maybe I am misunderstanding.

The Presentation is entirely HTML, so there is no way to export it to play on the Apple TV that I am aware of. Hopefully he can respond to this post soon to let us know how he accomplished this.

Thanks!
