We are potential new users to RiseVision. Before this project gets greenlighted, we need to create a FlowChart for the IT Security Chief at the University.  Could you please help me answer the following questions,  or perhaps direct me to where I can find the answers:

1.  Where is the content coming from? ·
2.  What protocols are in play from the player to the content?
3.  Ie is it pulling via http or smb?  FTP perhaps?  Something proprietary? ·
4.  Are the players ever caching content or is it always live? ·
5.  How often is the content refreshed and how often is the content archived?
6.  Is it backed up for DR purposes only or for retroactive review as well? ·
7.  Under what accounts is this content accessible? ·
8.  Under what accounts is this content modifiable? ·
9.  How is the this system audited? ·
10. What accounts are used to control and administer this system? ·
11. What level of domain integration is in place? ·
12. What processes are in place to provision and de-provision accounts and departmental specific access?

Hitao2k4, see my comments below. Let us know if that helps. Thanks and welcome to Rise Vision!

1.  Where is the content coming from?

Alan: Rise Vision is runs on Google App Engine infrastructure so connections are made to Google servers. Where specific content comes from depends on the type of content. For example, you can place Images on your server and use them in your Presentation. When the Presentation runs on your Display, the content would come from two sources 1) the Presentation would be pulled down from the Rise Vision Platform (on Google App Engine) 2) once the Presentation runs, it would get the Image in that Presentation from your server.

2.  What protocols are in play from the player to the content?

Alan: HTTP and HTTPS

3.  Ie is it pulling via http or smb?  FTP perhaps?  Something proprietary? ·

Alan: HTTP

4.  Are the players ever caching content or is it always live?

Alan: Images are cached locally until a machine reboot. If you host your Videos on Rise Storage, the videos will be stored in a persistent cache.

5.  How often is the content refreshed and how often is the content archived?

Alan: when you make changes to a Presentation, they will be reflected on a running Display in just a few minutes. For this to happen, you'll need to make sure you satisfy the network requirements. Take a look at the page here, https://help.risevision.com/user/advanced/display/network-requirements

6.  Is it backed up for DR purposes only or for retroactive review as well?

Alan: We don't backup your Presentations, but you can easily copy the HTML of a Presentation and save it locally for backup purposes.

7.  Under what accounts is this content accessible?

Alan: Not sure I fully understand the question, but you can register any number of Users with your Company. Take a look at the following pages. The page here https://help.risevision.com/user/create-an-account explains how to create your Company and the type of account you'll need. The page here explains how you can add additional Users, https://help.risevision.com/user/add-users

8.  Under what accounts is this content modifiable?

Alan: You can control what Users registered with your Company can modify content by granting or removing the Content Editor role.

9.  How is the this system audited?

Alan: Can you clarify? I don't understand what you are asking.

10. What accounts are used to control and administer this system?

Alan: There is a role of Administrator.

11. What level of domain integration is in place?

Alan: I'm not sure I understand completely what you are asking. You are more than welcome to take our open source applications or use our public API's. Take a look at our developer documentation here, https://help.risevision.com/developer

12. What processes are in place to provision and de-provision accounts and departmental specific access?

Alan: In Rise Vision you can create sub-companies. Each sub company can have their own Users and you can set a Companies status to be either Active or Inactive as needed.
