Prakash,

Have you checked the Startup Programs to see if the link to the Rise Vision start script is in there?

That would be my first recommendation.

Make sure that it is pointing to (update the username and xx's to match your system): C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\rvplayer\2016.xx.xx.xx.xx\Installer\scripts\start.sh

And make sure that script runs in the startup with the --unattended flag so that it does not wait for any user intervention.

Thanks!

Shouldnt it be automatically done when we check add to start up option. Also it's happening on few systems after it ran for a week and that too after bootup

Prakash,

Yup, if "Add to startup" is checked, it should be added to the Startup.

So I understand you correctly, it was running, and then for no obvious reason it just stopped, and the startup shortcut is missing?

yup robb,

i just checked the startup folder and the risevision shortcut is pointed to "C:\Users\xmediadds\AppData\Local\rvplayer\2016.08.01.20.54\Installer\scripts\background.jse start.bat --unattended".

Prakash,

That is indeed the correct link to start up the Player when the Display starts.

I totally removed the Rise Player from my Win 10 32 Bit box, and after installing the newest version, it works as expected.

is it possible there is a security restriction that is causing this on your device?

Well when i had done fresh install on the system two weeks back, it had restarted was working fine. This issue i found this week. I dont have any security restrictions. Also i checked background services, there is only windows defender services running. My OS is windows 10 32 bit Home edition.

Hi Prakash,

I wonder if the startup of Rise Player is being affected by any custom settings. Could you please right click the Windows Start Menu and click run? Once you've done that, type "msconfig" and press enter. Please ensure the following:

  • Under the General tab "Normal Startup" is selected
  • Under the Boot tab "Safe Boot" is not selected
Please let me know the results. Thanks!

Prakash,

Startup Items in Windows 10 are now handled in the Task Manager. Can you check the Task Manager and see if the Rise Vision Player Startup link is in there?

Prakash,

The best way to start it would be a reboot, or if that is not possible, create a start menu or desktop link for the following: "C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\rvplayer\2016.xx.xx.xx.xx\Installer\scripts\background.jse" start.bat --unattended

You will have to replace the username and 2016.xx with the actual paths on your Display.

Let me know how you make out!

I'm having a similar issue, but it's due to the RV software update not updating the startup path on some of my computers. The ...\local\rvplayer\2016.xx.xx.xx.xx\... still points to the old version, but the file no longer exists. So after every update I need to manually update that path. Will a re-install of RV fix this issue?

I'm sorry to hear that Shai! Typically that startup path is updated correctly when there is an update to the Player. To ensure there are no remnant files, can I ask you to completely remove the Player by selecting the "Uninstall Rise Player" option from the Start menu, and then install the latest version of the Player from here.

Please let us know how you make out!
