Hi, I am so happy can join this community.  I read this forum but I still don't get it very clearly. So I want to ask about RISEBERRY from NEWBIE perspective. Maybe for others Newbie can join to comment so we have more clear of understanding.

I start with:

What is the best OS for RPI 2 as media player using this great RiseVision: Raspbian Jessie ? or Ubuntu 14.04?

thanks.

Hi Alfie,
Check out this thread https://community.risevision.com/rise_vision_inc/topics/community-supported-raspberry-pi-2-instructi..., also Scott's Digital Signage is allowing beta testers for the Windows IoT platform on Raspberry Pi 2 if you're interested: https://community.risevision.com/rise_vision_inc/topics/raspberry-pi-2-with-windows-iot

I wouldn't recommend Ubuntu 14.04 on Raspberry Pi though

Thanks,
Hannah

Hi HSuarez,

Thank you for your response. I've read the link which you've shared about the IoT installation on Rpi2. But the information said that the video isn't working yet. Yesterday I was chatting with Mr Ray Durkin, Official Rep, and he was recommended Ubuntu 14 instead Raspbian Jessie, despite Rpi is (still) not the official media player (yet) for RiseVision.

I hope RiseVision will build the official OS for Rpi2 soon and contribute the IoT era, especially in the Digital Signage's world.
