Rise Vision Player Forces Reboot When Starting on Intel Nuc

We are running a display using an Intel Nuc with Ubuntu that we bought with Rise Vision pre-installed and never touched the default settings. The Rise Vision player is configured to start automatically when the media player reboots. As soon as the Rise Vision player starts it immediately reboots the entire media player device. The presentation is never shown. It reboots the second the Rise Vision player begins to start up. You start to see the grey screen and then the media player is rebooted. This repeats over and over.

I was able to get into the startup screen and disable the automatic start up for the Rise Vision player. Now when the media player reboots it stays on since the player isn't restarting.

We've been running this media player for about a year or two and never had this problem. Is it possible that the Rise Vision player program has become corrupt and is forcing the media player to reboot? Any suggestions or fixes?

Aurora U,

That would be why you can't install any Chrome Extensions. 12.10 has been deprecated and is no longer supported. You'll need to start with a fresh install of Ubuntu 14.04 in order to take advantage of Chrome Extensions and Applications.

You can find information on Ubuntu 14.04 here.
