We are looking for a Product Owner or two.

Who Are We?
Rise Vision digital signage is the simplest way to share amazing content.

We allow everyone, regardless of budget, to deliver their message to displays anywhere - use us for free, or add premium products if and when needed.

Unlike expensive proprietary digital signage our content is HTML and our code open source, so that together, with our community of users, designers, and developers, we can create something far better than we can on our own.

Work small, anywhere, anytime, to make changes that matter.

Our Principles
Move forward one experiment at a time, less code is better code, create with test driven development, in small iterations, with continuous daily deployments.

Use lean principles; manufacturing, startup, analytics, ux and coffee, and work according to Scrum and Kanban. We think 10X.

We need a Product Owner who is accountable for:
  • Defining what to do, not asking what to do

  • Knowing your product and it’s market - you write the product story

  • Your strategy defines “what” disrupts the market, not “me too”

  • Your product is delivered for the least effort, you eliminate more than you add

  • Test your product one small experiment at a time, adjust or pivot at every validation

  • Sticking to “what” and leaving “how” to your development team

  • Making sure that you deliver quality and reliability every time

  • The collateral - FAQs, documentation, video, presentations, white papers...

  • Getting the press to cover your product story

You accomplish the above by eliminating fires before they start. Your foresight and discipline makes everything easy. There are no escalated issues, panics or death marches. You make sure that you have accounted for all of the surprises along the road to delivery of your product story.

Your KPI
Month over month churn reduction with increased return on investment.

How Do We Work?
We don’t really care if you want to work contract or be an employee, where you live in the world (although we think Toronto for this role might be best, but, we’re open on this), what you wear, if you sleep days and work nights, or some combination in between, just as long as you can give us your full-time commitment and are available to collaborate between 9am and 5pm, Toronto time.

We’re Virtual
We live in HipChat, GitHub, G+ Hangouts, GoToMeetings, Trello, a G+ private community and Google Docs. We have people throughout the world and physical space at BrightLane in Toronto and Plexpod in Lenexa, Kansas.

No Followers
We want opinionated people – “I think we should do this” rather than “tell me what to do” – who are more than comfortable with everyone else having an opinion too!

No Assholes
You like people, they like you, and everything you do is done with integrity and respect.

Continuous Learners
We want continuous learners. You share more articles, tech finds, check this outs, than anyone you know. You spontaneously learn and explore, you find learning something new exciting, never scary.

What should you come with?
  • Communication - you live to write, to communicate and express yourself

  • You know what LEAN means, manage with KanBan, think in sprints, work in Scrums and don’t do anything unless it solves a problem and you have a metric to validate the result against

  • Web design - we get it, you’re not a coder and we don’t need a coder, but you're digital, you can hack together an HTML page and CSS file with a bit of JS when you need to

  • Growth hacker - you think A/B tests in your sleep and you swing tools like segment.io, KissMetrics, Optimizely, Intercom, BigQuery, and FullStory without blinking
